Fantasy sports platform Dream 11 is reported to have won the title sponsorship rights of IPL 2020. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has awarded the title sponsorship to Dream 11 after it paid a massive Rs. 220 crore to have its name on top of one of India’s biggest cricket tournaments .
The former title sponsor VIVO, a Chinese smartphone maker withdrew its sponsorship from IPL because of the tension that took place between India and China , and also the public sentiments were against Chinese products as well.
With Vivo gone, other companies in India including Byju’s, Unacademy and even Tata Sons competed for the sponsorship and made the bid but ultimately Dream 11 had the last laugh.
