Catering Owners Association’s Eedhal Network came forward to feed the needy who suffered without food during this lockdown. Eedhal began feeding them from 31st March 2020 and is continuing the service till now at various locations in the city that includes Sanganoor, Sivanandha Colony, Neelionampalaym, Perur, Thondamuthur, Papanayakanpalayam, Sidhapudur and so on. Eedhal successfully catered 1,40,000 packed foods till date.
Securing all the necessary approvals and protocols from the Government, Eedhal stepped up efforts to ease the hunger. District Collector K.Rajamani IAS visited and inspected the kitchen along with Tamilselvan, Food Safety Officer, Coimbatore, D. Ramaduraimurugan, District Revenue Officer and Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Director – Public Health.
All the activities of Eedhal is carried out and monitored by Catering Owners Association members under the guidance of Madhampatty R.Nagaraj, President, Ravi, Vice President, Madhampatty T. Krishnakumar, Secretary, Perur Hariharan, Joint Secretary and Anandkumar, Treasurer of the association.
