9 P.M. 9 Minutes-The Lights India lit on April 5

Coimbatore stood in solidarity with the rest of India by lighting diya,candle and torch lights to show its support to everyone working to defeat COVID-19.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a request on April 3 to all his fellow Indians to light a diya , candle or shine torch lights while switching off the rest of the lights at every home.

Through this he said it will give a feeling of oneness which will strengthen our resolve in our fight against the pandemic.

President Ramnath Kovind with the First Lady and members of the family joined fellow citizens in demonstrating collective solidarity and positivity by lighting candles at 9 PM. He expressed his gratitude towards every Indian for showing resolve & resilience in the fight against COVID-19.

In some areas, the bursting of crackers were seen.

Rotary Club of District 3201 wrote “India Fights Corona” by arranging Diyas in such formation and showed their support.
