SIMA’s Texfair 2019 to kick-start on Aug 9

The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA)is going to organize the 12th Edition of Texfair, aiming for the mutual benefit of the supplier and user industries.  The fair which is held every two years will be a four-day international event where international textile machinery, accessories and spares will be exhibited. The event is scheduled to be held at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex from August 9 to 12.

In connection with that, a press-meet was arranged where P.Nataraj, Chairman; Ashwin Chandran, Vice-Chairman and K.Selvaraju, Secretary General, SIMA addressed the press. They conveyed that 250 exhibitors will display their products/services in 320 stalls. Approximately 60to 70% of the exhibitors are from Coimbatore and South Indian cities. K.Selvaraju, said that, amid a time of recession in the industry,  the stalls were filled instantly and the response was incredible.

Talking to the members of the press, P.Nataraj said that China is the biggest buyer of Indian cotton. Since USA and China are in a trade-war; this is indirectly affecting India’s Cotton and its affiliated Industry. The export percentage, compared with last year’s amount, has dropped to 50%. The fair, according to SIMA could help all-stake holders of the industry to know more about the  latest technologies available that could help them cut the expenses that are increasing due to the external crisis.

Apart from Machineries,  SIMA is also organizing ‘Farm to Finish Expo 2019’ where the products of entire textile value chain from cotton to finished products will be exhibited.  P.Nataraj said that SIMA expects 1 lakh visitors to this fair and a business worth of Rs.1,000 Crores to take place in this event.
