Community Radio stations are quite different from commercial radios. They aim at being of service to the community at the same time entertaining and providing information that will be of maximum value to the broadcasted area. Making money is not in their agenda whilst adding value to society is certainly in their objectives.
In this regard, Rathinavani 90.8 – a community radio of Rathinam Group of Institutions, which has been actively disseminating valuable information about on education, technology, law, agriculture and much more through its infotainment programs, is joining hands with Community Radios Association in organizing Tamil Nadu Community Radios Meet and Awards ceremony. The event will take place in Rathinam College of Arts and Science, Eachanari, Coimbatore on 4.6.2019 at 10.00 a.m. D. Vijayakumar, project director of NCLP will be the Chief Guest.
Two awards will be given in this event – Best Magazine Format Award and Best Outreach Activity Award. The former is for creative radio programs that spread awareness on a select theme while the latter is for community activities that are done beyond radio related programs.
