Intl. Midwives Day celebrated at PSG Nursing

PSG College of Nursing recently organized International Midwives Day Celebration at the PSG IMS&R Auditorium.  Dr.A.Jayasudha, Principal, PSG College of Nursing welcomed the gathering.

Dr.Chithra, Professor& Unit Chief of OBG Department, PSG Hospitals delivered the Keynote Address and  she touched upon the Role of Midwives in maternity Services. She said “International Midwives Day signifies the vital role of midwives towards the maternal and child care . Midwives are able to do everything the patient requires with tender love and care”

The Chief Guest, Swati Jagdish, Director of Bond & Beyond Institute and Member of Parenting Network, Coimbatore delivered a lecture on Lactation Management. She stated about the importance of breast feeding, its challenges, breast milk banking & donation, positioning, demand on feeding, breast crawling, entero mammary pathway and how it improves the mother’s & baby’s health. She expressed her happiness in attending such a programme. She also congratulated the students for their active participation.
