Maa creates a lump among viewers.

Though we are living in the 21st century yet hunger remains to be the main cause of death followed by other dreaded diseases like Cancer and Aids. An estimate states that 820 million people chronically face starvation at world level out of which one-third are in India. It is a sorry state of affairs and to cut this short as well as promote awareness on why one shouldn’t waste food, Sathish Nair, MD of Coimbatore based company decided to show the world a short film called “Maa”.

Involved in food processing business, Sathish saw the amount of food being wasted at different places and thought films would be the right way to gain one’s attention. The term Maa when translated from Sanskrit means ‘do Not Anymore’. It is a bi-lingual movie and has minimal dialogues in Tamil and Malayalam with English sub-titles. The duration of the film is paltry 5 minutes and it was produced by EssEmm Corporation.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was V.Lakshminarayanasamy, President, The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore. The short film Maa is sure to leave the audience with a lump in their throat as we at EssEmm felt, witnessing the hard-hitting portrayal of the issue.
