Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore signed a MoU during the last week.
The objective of the MoU is for academic interaction, promotion of inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary studies in higher education including the restructuring of courses, new methods of teaching and learning with the transfer of credits by establishing Academic Bank of Credits as per New Education Policy.
Additional objectives are to organize and undertake extramural studies and extension services, to develop joint degree or diplomas, hold seminars and exchange visits.
Promotion of research activities in various disciplines, submission of joint research proposals, a joint publication of research articles, organizing workshops and conferences, placement and executive training, exchange of students and staff are also planned under the MoU.
Bharathiar University Vice-Chancellor P.Kaliraj and Registrar K.Murugan, Avinashilingam Institute’s Managing Trustee T.S.K.Meenakshisundaram, Chancellor S.P.Thiagarajan, Vice-Chancellor Premavathy Vijayan, Registrar Kowsalya and the Deans of various faculties from both the universities were present during the event.
