A greener start to a hopeful year

Coimbatore based NGO Siruthuli and Indian Texpreneurs Association together announced that more than 3000 saplings will be planted at Coimbatore SITRA premises to give a green start to this New Year. This event was a part of the Covai Vizha 2021.

Siruthuli’s Managing Trustee Vanitha Mohan, ITF’ chief Prabhu Dhamodharan and members of the two organizations took part in the inaugural. A press release conveyed that a total of 3351 native plants will be planted at the site as per the Miyawaki method, and the area will soon become a green belt in the busy traffic junction, which is located near the main entrance of SITRA towards the Avinashi road.

The plantation is being sponsored by ITF as part of their program of ‘ITF Regreen’ that is working towards conservation of the environment. The event was organised to create awareness about the need for re-greening the city which is fast becoming a concrete jungle.

During the event, Prabhu Damodaran also released the January 2021 edition of ‘Noyyal Times’, the Quarterly news magazine of Siruthuli and it was received by the members of ITF and other guests.
