Women entrepreneurs need solutions for branding & marketing challenges

The Coimbatore Chapter of Indian Women Network  of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized the 2nd Edition of Diya – Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Expo on Saturday. The virtual expo will provide New Business development avenues and B2B / B2C Meetings & Networking opportunities for all participants.

Following the welcome address by Ganesh Kumar, Chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone, Aishwarya Arjun, Chairperson, Yi Coimbatore Chapter addressed the viewers.

She said that our society is still patriarchal, and the share of women in the labor force and in entrepreneurship is still low because of social and structural barriers. She registered that in spite of these barriers, women today are elevating to higher positions in various organizations.

Talking about Diya, she said it will be a platform that gives the women-led companies a better visibility and help the participating women entrepreneurs to connect with women of similar vision.

As 100+ Women Exhibitors / Women led & related organizations are displaying their products and services at Diya, Ms.Arjun said that this event will give significant time for the products of the exhibitors to get good exposure as it will be virtually open for a span of 90 days. The event will also feature sessions on branding, marketing and finance which will add strength to the business acumen of the participants.

Vanathi Srinivasan, National President, BJP Mahila Morcha (Women’s Wing) delivered a Special Address.  She stated that Women centric development is the prime idea of our Prime Minister. She added that, Grass root level women are supported by measures including opening of their bank accounts by the initiatives of our Prime Minister.

In the Pandemic situation, within a minute these women were able to open their bank account. Vanathi mentioned that digitalization is reaching the rural women. Our Indian Government is taking various efforts towards women development. She appreciated the industrial organizations taking various efforts to women development. She urged that many women should come forward and start their business ventures.

She stated that, Branding and marketing aspects are two areas which need focus towards women empowerment. She also mentioned that, Self Help Groups (SHGs) are playing a key role in women and national development. She mentioned that Indian Government is ready to support women empowerment and is taking various steps to reach women empowerment.
