Blast at Neyveli Thermal Plant ends 6 lives

On Wednesday morning 10 a.m., a sudden blast occurred in Neyveli Thermal Power Station, taking away at least 6 lives. 17 workers are reported to be wounded.

The injured have been taken to NLC General Hospital for treatment. According to Neyveli Thermal Station Inspector Latha, the blast occurred in the 5th Unit of the 2nd station of the plant.  The cause of the blast remains unknown as of now.

Home Minister Amit Shah said that he is anguished to learn about the loss of lives due to a blast at Neyveli power plant boiler in Tamil Nadu. He mentioned in his tweet that he has spoken to Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and assured all possible help. He added that Central Industrial Security Force is already on the spot to assist the relief work.Shah shared that he is praying for the earliest recovery of those injured.
