–  Dr.G.Srinivas, Joint Secretary, UGC at SKACAS Graduation Day

Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science (SKACAS), Kovaipudur, Coimbatore celebrated its first Graduation day Ceremony at college premises on 23rd February, 2020.  Dr.P.Kaliraj, Vice-Chancellor, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore was the Chief Guest and gave away the degrees and also delivered his graduation day address.

He said that  Graduates should have creative thought and mind. Having good relationship with all will give fruitful results. Faculty members are very important for the growth of educational institutions.   Placement is important for the academic institutions. The type of job selected by the candidates now is going to change entirely after ten years. The title of the job may also change. To face it, daily updating is very important.   There is a drastic change in the technology, unless adopting the technology, the institute cannot sustain.  How we are going to make the institute is depending upon its tendency to adopt the technology. Technology will play a vital and crucial role in future. Technology upgrading is addition to the degree and domain knowledge. Automobile industries are in crisis, such kind of problems should be carefully dealt and we have to find out solutions to address the automobile industrial problems.

It is the need of the hour to prepare a curriculum which should be based on the recent changes in the industry and technology, update the domain knowledge, skill and recent changes in the syllabus every year.  If look into collaboration, we have to collaborate with the private industries also for research and development. Research has to be promoted at UG level.  Globalization of education is very essential now.  Educational institutions should include skill development programmes.

Dr.G.Srinivas, Joint Secretary, UGC said that create leaders for 21st century and create young leaders in India.  Higher education institution role is very important in the nation.  We cannot escape from the changes taking place in the industry and in employment.  It is a right time to go in new areas. He appreciated the Tamil Nadu colleges for excelling in higher educational development. Tamil Nadu is the top state in higher education enrolment ratio and has more number of accreditation and autonomous colleges in India. In NIRF Rank, Tamil Nadu colleges are getting more ranks and also more number of colleges receiving ranks in top 100. Coimbatore colleges are doing wonderful contribution in higher education. Coimbatore is a hub of industries, hence all educational institutions should have link with Coimbatore industries. Use the potentials of local industries for the academic developments.
