Tamil Nadu Election Commissioner Palaniswamy addressed the press today (2.12.2019) to convey about the details of the forthcoming local election in Tamil Nadu.He conveyed that election will be held on December 27 and December 30 in two stages. The election will commence at morning 7 a.m. and will conclude in the evening at 5 p.m. The vote count will be made on January 2nd, 2020.
The elections are to be held for as many as 12,820 wards in 15 corporation, 121 municipality, 528 town panchayats in Urban local bodies. In addition, as many as 12,524 panchayat presidents and as many as 1,06,458 ward members in rural local bodies are to be elected, reported sources.Palaniswamy has also instructed the officials who will be on election duty to ensure that the election runs smooth and in a fair manner.
