KASC takes Nutritional & Traditional Foods’ values to people

In connection with the 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the National Service Scheme (NSS) (Units: I-V) and Unnat Bharat Abiyan of Kongunadu Arts and Science College (KASC)  jointly organized a Rally to  create  awareness about nutritional foods as a part of connection with POSHAN MAA-2019 on 30.09.2019.  Around 300 NSS volunteers participated in this rally to create awareness among the public. The rally started from Kongunadu Arts and Science College and went till Urumandampalayam. Dr. M. Lekeshmanaswamy, Principal KASC flagged off the rally.

Along with that, the NSS Unit of the college organized Traditional Food Festival to create awareness about our traditional food varieties and habits among the students and staff members on 03.10.2019.  Dr. C.A. Vasuki, Secretary and Director, Kongunadu Arts and Science College inaugurated the food exhibition POSHAN MAA-2019.  Around 350 NSS Volunteers participated and exhibited different varieties of foods. Some of the students lively prepared some food items and served to the student and staff.

Dr. R. Baskar, NSS Programme Coordinator, Bharathiar University, visited the exhibition and appreciated the NSS volunteers for their efforts in creating awareness about the value of food and tradition.

Dr. R. Velmurugan, Dr. P. Matheswaran,   Dr. K. Palanivel, Dr. A. Amuthalakshmi, NSS Programme Officers and Dr. P. Chitra, UBA Coordinator and NSS Programme Officer made arrangements for this mega event. More than 2500 students and 100 staff members were benefited from this traditional food festival.
