Graduation Day & 61st AGM of Coimbatore Productivity Council held

The Coimbatore Productivity Council held its 61st Annual General Meeting along with its 39th PGDPM Convocation and 1st DQM Graduation Day at the Chamber Hall of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore on 21.8.2019.

The AGM was attended by the Members of CPC and the Graduation was attended by the graduands.

A.M.Natarajan, President, CPC welcomed the gathering. K.Athiyaman, Hon. Treasurer, CPC presented the Accounts of CPC for the year 2019-20. P.K.Natarajan announced the governing body members for the year 2019-20. During the Graduation, K.Muthukumar, Vice President, CPC highlighted in brief about the PGDPM and DQM courses.

Dr.Kavidasan, Immediate Past President, CPC addressed the graduates. He conveyed the value of holding the PGDPM & DQM degrees. Addressing the graduates, he said that they who would become HRs should make their ideas and innovations help the workforce in companies.

Conveying, that there is lack of leadership in the world, he wished them to be leaders and change-makers in the industry and society. He counselled them to be true leaders and create more leaders in their tenure.

The Chief Guest of the Graduation Dr.B.Vanitha, Prof& Head, Dept of Economics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore addressed the gathering.She said CPC is a pride of Coimbatore because it is committed to build and support the workforce and contribute to the nation in great proportion. Addressing the graduates, she said “your urge to go higher and higher had brought you to CPC to pursue these courses although most of you are already employed.

She said that CPC has given them creative and transformative education. She suggested the graduates to pursue excellence with a difference. ” To be an excellent person you dont have to defeat others but make everyone a winner.” She asked them to establish good networks. ” Dont just have contacts but have that Connectivity” as they all will be HRs who will be the bridge between the workforce and the management.She recommended them to find the joy of success in elevating others’ lives and not just in monetary accomplishments. While ending, she said we all are juggling with five balls “Work, Family, Friends, Integrity and Health. Of all the five, one is a rubber ball and the rest are glass balls.”. She hinted that they will have to find a proper work-life balance; and family, friends, integrity and health are paramount.

After her address, 40 PGDPM graduates and 10 DQM Graduates received their Degrees from the dignitaries. The event ended with the Vote of Thanks by Dr.S.Sudhakar, Hon.Secretary, CPC.

The new office bearers’ names for the year 2019-20 was officially announced. K.Muthukumar, MD, Textek Electronics Limited  was elected as the President of CPC.Dr.K.Chitra, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women was announced as Hon.Secretary, K.Arul, Additional Director, Health & Safety (Retd) and Dr.S.Sudhakar, Senior GM, Roots Industries were elected Vice Presidents, Ravikumar, Director, Roots CAST Pvt Ltd was announced Hon.Treasurer and Manoharan, Secretary, HMS Union was announced Hon.Joint Secretary.
