The Department of Civil Engineering, PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Coimbatore had conducted Anna University Sponsored Six Day Faculty Development programme on “CE8502 – Structural Analysis – I” from 10.06.2019 to 15.06.2019. The inauguration function was held on 10.06.2019 at E5 seminar hall, PSGiTech. The chief guest of the function was Dr. U. Saravanan, Professor, Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, Chennai.
Dr. M. I. Abdul Aleem, Professor and Head of the department welcomed the gathering. Dr. P. V. Mohanram, Principal presided over the function. 25 faculty members from various reputed college had attended the faculty development programme. Dr. P. Perumal, Professor, department of Civil Engineering briefed about the training programme.
Dr. U. Saravanan, Professor, Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, Chennai delivered the inaugural address. He also said about the importance of the Structural Analysis in a real time structure. Also insisted that the focus should be more on the concepts rather than working out the problems. Finally Dr. M. Arun, co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
