PSG Tech conducts PG Award Ceremony

PSG College of Technology organized the Award Ceremony 2019 for PG Engineering & Science Stream 8th June 2019 at Quadrangle in the college campus. Mahesh Moorthy, Vice President (Engineering),Qualcomm,Chennai was Chief Guest and delivered the Award Ceremony Address. Prakasan, Principal (i/c), PSG College of Technology presided over the event.

The Chief Guest, in his address said “This college gave me the foundation that I needed to be where I am now. Entering the doors of PSG is itself an achievement and you all have done exceedingly well.
This is indeed a cherished moment for you all and at this juncture I should congratulate your parents without their sacrifice your victory wouldn’t be possible.

For Qualcomm PSG is very important. PSG students rank among the top because they get excellent quality of education here. The college produces industry friendly and industry ready graduates”

He then shared with the soon to be graduates the tips he learned as a pro. He conveyed the tips under the initials PSG. He advised them to have Passion. He quoted Steve Jobs; “to do great work is to love what you do” and asked them to execute with passion whatever task they are assigned. If they find themselves in a division that is different from their expectations, he wished them to take that up with passion. “What matters is how committed to the job you are”

Next, he wanted them to Speak up. “In your career, don’t be overwhelmed by people with big titles”, he advised. He suggested them to not worry about other’s opinion. “Come up with ideas, that’s your task. Don’t hold yourself back”,he said.

Finally he wanted them all to have Good nature. “You need to be a good team player, a person with open mindedness who is flexible, skillful and has a good attitude. He said skills change constantly but attitude doesn’t. “Skills can be taught but attitude cannot be.” He said Attitude is important to one’s growth.

He ended with the quote of Michael Josephson “Take pride in how far you have come, Have faith in how far you can go”, and congratulated them.

494 Students were awarded their degrees. The Rank holders in all PG programs were honoured with Gold medals.
