SKCET becomes Nodal Centre for Smart India Hackathon 2019

Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) has been chosen by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for hosting the Grand Finale of ‘Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2019’ for the third consecutive time.

The event will be held on 2nd and 3rd of March 2019. SIH is the world’s largest digital product building contest, conducted 36 hours non-stop every year, since 2017. This year, the event will be conducted at 48 nodal centers across India, of which, 6 nodal centers are chosen from Tamil Nadu. SKCET is the only Institution in Tamil Nadu to host the event for the third consecutive time.

SIH has two forms, viz, software and hardware versions. The software version of SIH will happen during 2nd and 3rd March 2019 and the hardware competition is scheduled during May 2019. A total of 1373 teams comprising of 10500+ youngsters have been shortlisted pan India for the Grand Finale.

In order to encourage and motivate all the participants, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is expected to address and interact with the participants at SKCET through video conferencing as he did during the previous two years.
