“Vi and Kerala Police Safeguard Young Children at Sabarimala”

India’s leading telecom player Vi has partnered with the Kerala Police Department to ensure the safety of child pilgrims visiting the Holy Shrine during the annual Mandala pooja season.

The partnership aims to address the recurring concern of children getting lost in the crowd and reunite misplaced wards with their parents. Vi has devised a QR code technology to help keep pilgrims safe and secure.  Vi is requesting pilgrims to collect a Vi OR code-powered band and register it with the mobile number of their guardian or family member. The band can be tied to the wrist of the children and when a lost child is spotted, they can be deposited at the nearest Kerala Police check post.

Officers on Duty can scan the QR Code and call the registered number of the guardian or family member to inform them to collect their ward.

Pathanamthitta District Police Chief, Ajith V. IPS, has launched the Vi QR Code bands initiative in collaboration with Vodafone Idea Limited. The initiative aims to reduce the efforts of the Kerala State Police Force to address missing child cases during the Mandala and Makara Vilakku seasons.

The Vi Suraksha QR code technology band will be active during the pilgrim season and is non-transferable. Vodafone Idea Limited Vice President & Circle Operations Head – Kerala, Binu Jose, expressed his support for the initiative, stating that it will benefit the masses and support the police at one of the largest congregations of human beings in the country.

Ajith V. IPS, Pathanamthitta District Police Chief, announced a partnership with Vi to address child pilgrim missing cases during the Mandala and Makara Vilakku season. Vi Suraksha QR code technology bands will help reduce police efforts and unite child pilgrims with their guardians.
