In a momentous celebration, the Satish Dhawan Space Centre – SHAR, Sriharikota, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in association with Kongunadu Arts & Science College (KASC), marked the inauguration of the Science Exhibition in the ‘World Space Week Celebrations 2023’ with the theme “Space and Entrepreneurship,”. The event unfolded at the KASC campus on October 5, 2023, and the expo is set to captivate audiences until October 7.
Lekeshmanaswamy, the Principal, welcomed attendees, setting the stage for an enlightening discourse. Subbananthan, Deputy General Manager of Safety at SDSC SHAR, ISRO, Sriharikota, Chairman of WSW 2023, delivered a special address, offering valuable insights. C. A. Vasuki, Secretary, and Director of KASC, took the podium for the presidential address, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
Distinguished figures such as Prof. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science & Higher Education for Women, Dr Thavamani D. Palaniswami, Secretary, Dr. NGP Arts & Science College Vice-Chairman, Kovai Medical Centre Research & Educational Trust, KMCH Campus, and Lovelina Little Flower, Member, VC Committee & Syndicate Member, Professor & Head Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University contributed felicitation addresses. Athappa Manickam, Founder & Chairman of MAK Controls & Systems Pvt. Ltd, Coimbatore, was present as the Chief Guest while Grahadurai, Deputy Director at SDSC SHAR, ISRO, Sriharikota, graced the event as the Guest of Honour.
The Chief Guest provided valuable insights on the establishment and development of MAK, highlighting its journey towards becoming a dominant force on the global stage.
The inaugural event witnessed the release of the WSW 2023 brochures, symbolizing a milestone in the celebration. Driven by the noble objective of igniting young minds in space entrepreneurship, the event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Saravanamoorthy, Academic Coordinator.
