NIET Organized Fresher’s Day

The Department of Science and Humanities at Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology organized Fresher’s Day 2023 on September 11th, 2023, at P.K Das Auditorium in T.M Palayam, Coimbatore. The event commenced with the Tamilthai Vazhthu, and Dr. P. T. Hemamalini, the HOD of Science and Humanities, extended a warm welcome to both the audience on and off the dais.

Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary of NGI, delivered the Presidential address. He welcomed the chief guest, acknowledged his accomplishments, and also greeted the parents, guests, and the incoming 1st-year students for the academic year 2023-24. He highlighted the presence of 22 institutions under NGI, experienced faculty members, and encouraged students to use their time wisely to become entrepreneurs or teachers. He emphasized the support of NGI’s faculty and placement cell in training students and encouraged participation in all NGI programs.

Maniiarasan, the Principal of NIET, discussed the achievements of the institute and urged students to make the best use of available resources for the betterment of society and the nation. He encouraged students to come up with innovative startup ideas through New Gen IEDC & TBI and mentioned the faculty’s dedication to both teaching and research.

Elangovan, Chairman of TIMO EVA Wellness Private Limited, Karnataka, served as the chief guest. He motivated students to excel and stressed the importance of money management and education in personal growth and nation-building.

Nagaraja, Executive Director of Academics & Administration at NGI, emphasized the importance of confidence and creativity in the learning process.

The Student Cabinet Ministers of NIET were introduced by Deepa, IQAC Head. They welcomed the new students with bouquets, symbolizing the beginning of their journey as future engineers.

The Fresher’s Day celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Tony Dhiwahar, Assistant Professor of Science and Humanities at NIET.
