PSG College of Technology, renowned for its academic excellence and industry collaborations, today organized the Science Stream Award Ceremony 2023. The event, held at the College Assembly Hall, witnessed the presence of distinguished Chief Guest Amit Kalley, CEO of Infosys Equinox, San Francisco, USA. Under the leadership of Kalley, the ceremony celebrated the outstanding achievements of students and highlighted the institution’s commitment to excellence.
The ceremony commenced with Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of the General Council & Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, declaring it open. Nadarajan, Director of PSG Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Prakasan, Principal of PSG College of Technology, presented the annual report, showcasing the institution’s remarkable progress.
During his address, Principal Prakasan acknowledged the challenges that the students had faced throughout their academic journey. He praised their exceptional performance and expressed his delight in witnessing their success. The Principal emphasized the importance of learning and how it brings satisfaction to individuals. He assured the graduating students that GRD would shower blessings upon them as they embark on their endeavors. He imparted his wisdom by expressing, “Embark on a journey to enhance your service to your country.”
During his special address, Chief Guest Amit Kalley expressed his admiration for the students’ remarkable accomplishments and lauded their dedication and hard work. He personally congratulated and awarded eight rank holders with well-deserved medals in recognition of their exceptional performance. Additionally, he presented degree certificates to 220 postgraduates and 87 undergraduates from various departments, acknowledging their successful completion of their respective programs.
Kalley took the opportunity to share his insights on the professional journey and the pursuit of success. He emphasized the importance of finding passion in one’s work, highlighting that when individuals love what they do, they become a source of inspiration for others. He encouraged students to embrace their roles as innovators and push the boundaries of creativity. Ambition, bravery, and thinking big were essential aspects he emphasized for students to maximize opportunities in their careers.
Furthermore, Kalley emphasized the significance of consistent effort, dedication, and the willingness to work tirelessly. He stressed the importance of patience, as success often comes through persistence and staying committed to personal growth. Lifelong learning was another key principle he highlighted, emphasizing the value of acquiring new skills and actively investing in self-improvement to remain effective in the ever-evolving professional landscape.
The award ceremony concluded with a pledge administered by the Managing Trustee, signifying the commitment of PSG College of Technology to mold future leaders and contribute to the nation’s progress. The presence of Amit Kalley as the Chief Guest not only recognized the achievements of the science stream students but also highlighted the institution’s dedication to excellence and its strong connections with industry leaders like Infosys Equinox.
The renowned Thanmugathu Aazhvar Award was presented to Azhagu of B.Sc, Computer Science and Design.
