The flood situation in Assam remains severe, with around 31,000 people affected across 10 districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Red Alert’ for Assam, predicting heavy rainfall over the next five days. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) reported significant damage to infrastructure, crops, and widespread erosion. Relief distribution centres have been set up, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation. The Brahmaputra’s tributary, Kopili, is flowing above the danger mark. Efforts are underway to provide assistance and mitigate the impact of the floods on the affected population.
