PSG iTech and Anabond Limited Sign MoU for Sustainable Research

PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech), Coimbatore signed an MoU with Anabond Limited, Chennai, on Monday.

Anabond Limited is one of the leading producers of high-performance industrial adhesives and sealants that caters to the needs of a wide range of manufacturing industries.

Chandramohan, Principal, PSG iTech and Abraham, Joint Managing Director, Anabond Limited Chennai signed this MoU to collaborate for research in various dimensions of research activities.

The MoU aspires to develop sustainable raw materials for the production of polymeric materials and catalysts in alignment with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, with a goal to reduce the import of fossil materials and minimize environmental pollution. It is proposed to develop industrially valuable materials like epoxies, benzoxazines, urethanes, modified phenolics, novel catalysts, curing agents, hardeners, and accelerators, from sustainable sources to replace petroleum-based precursors. It is also aimed to develop cost-effective bio-polymer to utilize industrial wastes, agricultural residues, and by-product-based composite materials to protect the environment and ecology.

The Principal pointed out that Industry-Institute Interaction is for mutual benefit, and the betterment of society at large is a need of the hour.

Prof. Alagar, Visiting Research Consultant, PSG Institutions mentioned that the research team is currently developing cost-effective and environmentally friendly products.

As part of the MoU, there was a proposal to exchange scientists, academic researchers, and scholars to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and skill development.
