‘Expanding Horizons’ SIEMA’s 69th AGM

SIEMA organized its 69th Annual General Meeting, honoring its fresh office bearers. Vignesh, Ellen pumps elected as the President of SIEMA, followed by Mithun Ramdas, Mahendra pumps, Ma Sendilkumar, SuperTek industries and Arun Ranganathan being elected as the vice presidents for the year 2022-2023. The past Presidents, technical-committee and industrial associations were part of the event.

Karthik, immediate past president 2020-2022 welcomed the gathering following a brief report presenting SIEMA activities during his presidential reign.

He specified on the price hike in raw materials making it a great task to handle manufacture during the pandemic. The industry witnessed a voluminous depletion of 20% in growth.

Remarkable initiatives include the conversion request proposed before TN Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji to make Coimbatore as the global hub for pump manufacturers. The committee’s official meet with Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry remarked an immediate action plan for the requested queries on the industrial essentials.

Suguna Ravichandran, the Auditor, presented the audit reports for the year 2021-2022 and various central audit provisions which came into the act as of 2021 were highlighted.

Vignesh, President Siema, said, “We are glad to propose the agenda for the following year themed ‘Expanding Horizons’. Aiming to attain SIEMA’s vision of 4% of the 93 billion global pump market by 2027, various industry meetings have been scheduled.”

He made a specific mention regarding the project sanction of the development of submersible slurry pumps at a cost of Rs 13 crores with an 80% grant from the Government.
