Children performed ‘Hatha yoga’ at Satchidananda

International Yoga Day was observed at Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International, Mettupalayam. Hatha yoga was performed with concentration amidst natural ambience at 6 a.m, on 21, June, 2022.

The Secretary, Dr.Kavidasan inaugurated the event with his encouraging words and highlighted the importance of yoga. Children performed ‘Hatha yoga’, the yoga propagated by the founder of the school Swami Satchidananda Maharaj, whose teachings brought physical discipline of yoga with spiritual philosophy.

The school considers yoga not only a route to fitness and wellness to improve their memory power, focus more on studies but also a way to eternal bliss.

The day started with ‘Om chanting’ and the opening sloka ‘Hari om’.

Starting with surya namaskar, Bhujangasana, Sarvangasana, Dhanurasana, Yoga Mudra and intermittently with savasana, children also performed Pranayama, instructed and coordinated by Dr.V.Ganesan, the academic advisor and the vice-principal Dr. Sakthivel The Principal, Mrs.R.UmaMaheshwari greeted and appreciated the students and teachers for their performance.

Added to this, around hundred NCC cadets of the school under 2TN AIR SQN NCC units felt proud to celebrate the international yoga day in the school premises which rejuvenated their minds and souls with the yoga asanas. The International Yoga day was a blessed and memorable day for the school.
