Residents of various areas in Tittakudi Municipality in Cuddalore district expressed their agony due to unannounced power cuts by staging a protest last night.
The people have complained that electricity supply is cut in Aalathur, Sithur, Tholudhoor areas every one hour in a day for the past one week.
They have said that it becomes a burden during the night hours for everyone at home, particularly children and the aged. Hence to show their condemnation over this public disturbance, they held a candle light protest recently.
Various parts of Tamil Nadu, especially the outer city areas have reported facing unannounced power cuts. The Hindu shared that a few thermal plants of both the State and the Centre failed leading to unannounced load shedding in several districts, barring Chennai city.
It also stated that similar load shedding was carried out in several parts of Chengalpattu district of Guduvanchery, Marai Malai Nagar, Vandalur, and in Tiruvallur district of Pattabhiram, Thiruninravur and Nemmilichery.
