Adiyar Yoga Institute Celebrates Intl. Yoga Day

Yoga in India has been in existence since ancient times.  The word ‘yoga’ has been derived from Sanskrit meaning to join or unite, symbolizing the union of body and mind. It all started 5,000 years as Physical, Mental and Spiritual practice.

Yoga contributes in a holistic way to achieve equilibrium between mind and body, a contribution to mankind’s quest towards achieving sustainable development and move towards a lifestyles that is connected with nature. World Yoga Day was observed for the first time across the world on 21st June, 2015 and has since been celebrated regularly.
