The Youth Red Cross Club and Lions Club, Hindusthan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore in association with Shanthi Social Services, Coimbatore celebrated the World Blood Donor Day in the College premises. The Inaugural address was delivered by Sarasuwathy Khannaiyann, Managing Trustee, Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust. The program was felicitated by Dr. Priya Satishprabu, Executive Trustee and Secretary, Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust while The Presidential Address was delivered by T. Thilip Kumar, Principal In-charge of the College.
Part of the celebration also included a lecture on “Blood connects us all” by Dr. B. Sreenivasan, Medical Officer, Shanthi Social Services. On the eve of the function, a Blood Donation Camp was also organized which saw about 100 students donating blood.
The programme was co-ordinated by S. Prabhu, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Youth Red Cross Club, M. Selvapriya and Dr. Mohammed Rafiq Khan, Assistant Professors and Co-ordinators of Lions Club.
