DJAME’s Corporate Connect: V-Guard’s genesis and identity-evolution shared!

D.J.Academy for Managerial Excellence organized an event as a part of Corporate Connect which is an industry institution interaction initiative, in whichNandagopal Nair, VP & Head – Brand & Communications, V-Guard Industries Limited, Kochi, spoke on the topic of ‘Brand Transformation – The V-Guard Story’ recently.

Nandagopal has played an instrumental role in driving the fortunes of the brand from Rs. 400 crores, when he joined the company over a decade ago, to Rs.2700 crore now. His additional responsibilities include leading external engagement with design agencies and partners and supporting new product development initiatives.

He started the session by sharing the journey of the company V-Guard from its starting point  and its path of transformation from south Indian to PAN Indian presence. He highlighted the need for change driven by results gathered from the insights of their brand equity study through consumer market research.  This results in ideas to creatively evolve a new brand identity through invention of new products in the portfolio. He also explained the logo change, tagline change, packaging change, the office room change, the pantry change etc. they made to transform the brand.

Nandagopal also covered extensively the print campaigns, press coverage, TV campaign and Out Of Home (OOH) campaigns they ran on various platforms during the transformational journey. He also gave a glimpse on the IoT enabled products they launched after they gathered some limelight on the pain points of the tech savvy consumers. He also highlighted the outcomes they have benefitted out of this repositioning journey.

The session was followed by a Q&A session. Students and Faculty members of DJAME and other institutions took part in this interaction initiative.
