National Service Scheme Units of Rathinam college of Arts and Science organized 7 days special camp in Sulakkal Village in Pollachi.
During the 7 days camp, NSS Volunteers took part in various activities in and around the village. Special Medical and Eye check up camp were organized with the support from The Eye Foundation, Coimbatore, benefiting 100 people.
The NSS Units also arranged a drug abuse awareness session with the support of Coimbatore Public Welfare Department for the local youths. Similarly, an awareness program on Road Safety with the support of Vadakipalayam police station was also arranged, and vehicles with high beam lights were black stickered, a press release said.
Keeping in mind about the pandemic, a Rangoli competition on the theme of Corona was arranged to create a awareness among public. Prizes were distributed to the winners and they were honoured by the village administration’s President Sabarigrivasan. Rathinam CAS’ CEO & Secretary R. Manickam thanked the village administration for the support rendered in conducting this camp. Bharathiar University National Service Scheme Coordinator Annadurai appreciated the team for this effort.
