Galloping towards a goal and glory!

At the recently held Junior National Equestrian Championship 2021, Adhav Kandasamy, a contestant from Coimbatore won the gold medal, and received much appreciation for doing so, at a young age.

A student of Suguna Pips, Coimbatore, Adhav has been riding horses since the age of 4 in Equine Dreams, a horse riding club in Coimbatore. Saravanan from Karur, an acclaimed National and International Medallist is his coach and mentor.

The boy began competing in national level at the tender age of 10. He first competed at the Junior National Equestrian Competition (JNEC) in 2019. Subsequently, he won three National Medals 2 Bronze and a Silver in the Teams Events conducted at Embassy International Riding School- Bangalore 2019, Army Polo Club – Delhi 2020 and Amateur Riders Club – Mumbai 2021.

A source said that he has won 44 medals and trophies totally in Show Jumping events, and his selection as the first rider under 14 years from South India to get selected to the National Team 2021 is another feather in his decorated hat. While this boy is just getting started, he has set his eyes on an Olympic Medal, and is working towards that goal, vigorously.
