Vaccination drive for teens between ages 15 and 18 began on Monday across the country, and as per reports, more than 4.5 lakh teens received their jabs till noon.
Kids born in 2007 and years before have been viewed as eligible candidates for getting the vaccine shots, and as per CoWIN website, more than 12.5 lakh teenagers have registered for their jabs so far.
Times Now reported that the vaccination drive is being carried out in consultation with schools at hospitals and health centres. These kids are only receiving Covaxin, as directed by the Union Health Ministry has said only Covaxin, which will send additional doses of the vaccine to all states and Union Territories.
Also, the administration of a third dose of vaccine for health workers, frontline workers and vulnerable senior citizens will begin from January 10, but still, the government is yet to take a decision on the booster dose for all.
