Opportunities are high for the company secretaries – Nagendra D.Rao, ICSI President

The President of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Nagendra D.Rao shared that every day, 600 new companies are registered in India, and the total number is about five lakh. Hence the demand for Company Secretaries is only going upwards, and ICSI is also seeing an increase in registration of students aspiring to become Company Secretaries after the second wave of COVID-19.

He said this after laying the Foundation Stone for ICSI Coimbatore Chapter’s new building. This chapter was functioning in a rented building at Ram Nagar. Now ICSI –Coimbatore is coming up with its own building at 22 cents of land at Kalapatti.

“Construction of the New Office Premises of the ICSI Coimbatore Chapter has commenced from 19th December, 2021 onwards. The Company Secretaries students from the four districts which come under the jurisdiction of ICSI Coimbatore Chapter ie. Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode & Nilgiris districts can be utilized the facilities of the New Building,” an official press release said.

This building consists of stilt plus three floors including Reception, Office, Library cum meeting rooms, classrooms and multipurpose conference hall with the built-up area of 10,000 Sq.Ft. The project is expected to be completed before the end of the year 2022, and it will be useful for about 3000 students pursuing CS courses in and around Coimbatore.
