Vanathi Srinivasan launches scheme benefitting young women on PM’s Birthday

BJP Mahila Morcha’s National President and MLA of Coimbatore South Constituency Vanathi Srinivasan announced the launch of ‘Idham’ scheme on the 71 st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This scheme aims to provide free Sanitary napkins to 12000 young women belonging to Coimbatore South Constituency between the ages 13—19 every month for a period of 5 years.

Vanathi Srinivasan inaugurated this scheme on Friday along with the Chief Guest of the event Mohan Sundari, Managing Director, Sharp Electronics, Coimbatore.

During the launch Vanathi conveyed that every month 2000 pads will be kept separately at the MLA’s office from where women who need it can get it for free after producing their Aadhar Card copy.

Vanathi expressed that PM is much focused on Women’s development and following that path this scheme is introduced.

A dedicated team of women volunteers have been set for the distribution of the napkins door to door. Vanathi also said that awareness about women’s hygiene will also be made by the volunteers.

Mohana Sundari, the Chief Guest applauded the efforts of Vanathi and appealed to the beneficiaries not to waste the pads received free but make use of them and dispose them in the apt manner.
