Bharathiar University’s (BU) Women Studies, Computer Science and Human Genetics & Molecular Biology Departments organized a joint initiative to promote cancer awareness on Monday (6.9.2021).
The three departments hosted a Soursop Plantation and Sapling Donation program under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan 2.0 – BCTRC program. The activity was done to create awareness about breast cancer and cervical cancer, and also to promote the consumption of natural foods to prevent facing cancer risks.
Vice Chancellor of the university Prof.P.Kaliraj and Registrar i/c Prof.K.Murugavel inaugurated the project. 100 soursop plants were planted at the University campus and 400 saplings were donated to faculty and staff upon request.
