Global CMC Alumni unite to enhance their Alma Mater!

Over 2500 Alumni of Coimbatore Medical College from across the world have come together to elevate the facilities of their alma mater through various ways via CMC Global Doctors Alumni Association.

The association was formed in May 2021 in order to facilitate support during the second wave of covid-19, but the formal inauguration was held on August 20, 2021.

Home to more than 5000 alumni, CMC has produced many highly successful doctors since its beginning. 2500 doctors of this college have joined hands to support it in different ways via the association, which will eventually benefit the public.

Alumni who are Doctors in the USA are providing funding for ‘Proquest’ – a platform that will provide free access to leading medical journals of the world to students and staff at the college. The mission of the global CMC doctors alumni association is to make our college a world class institution providing the best care for the patients coming to the hospital’

Dr.Ashok Kumar from USA is the chairman of the association. During the inauguration, donations and honoring of retired professors took place.

Dr.Ramalingam from 1971 has played a crucial role in creating E-library, SIMLAB and Research Hall, with the support and help of Dean Dr.Nirmala.

Dr.Mahalingam from 1971 batch has donated an electronic Smartboard that will help the training of Doctors and nurses at the college.

Retired Professors of the college Dr.Lakshmipathy, Dr.PC Raju, Dr.Sivalingam, Dr.Kalyanaraman, Dr.Seeniammal and Dr.Balakrishnan were honoured. Portraits of well-known professors like Dr.TK Ganesan, Dr.Raman Kutty were unveiled.

Well known senior doctors of Coimbatore like Dr.Manickaraj, Dr.Ramamurthy, Dr.Ramalingam participated in the event along with Dr.Ashok Kumar (USA) Dr.Shanmugaraj (UK), Dr.Sajjini (USA), Dr.Seshadri and others from Tamil Nadu.
