SRCAS educates Tribal students about Solar Energy Conservation 

The Departments of Physics and Electronics of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore (SRCAS) provided a weeklong training on Solar Energy Conservation to 25 tribal students from Mangari Village and Kondanoor Village near Anakatti, Coimbatore.

These two villages are adopted by the NSS Units of the College. The training was to impart the students with Utilization and implementation of Solar panels for the Development of Tribal Villagers.

The project was executed in association with Alamo Colleges District, Texas, USA. Alamo Colleges District provided a 30-hour video instruction, titled Train the Trainer to 5 faculty members of SRCAS’  Physics and Electronics Department.

After the training, the faculty members provided direct workforce training to the tribal students. The students were trained on the usage of basic electronics components, power supply connection, soldering solar panel, on grid and off grid solar panel arrangements and installations of solar panel.

The training program was inaugurated by B.L.Shivakumar, Principal, SRCAS in the presence of S.Poonguzhali, HoD Physics and  K.Poornima, HoD Electronics.
