National Model School student interacts with Prime Minister 

Keeping in mind the uncertain situation of pandemic in the country, the government recently announced the cancellation of CBSE board exams for class 12.

In line with this, Ministry of Education and CBSE Board organized a video conference on 3rd June with students across the country. Prime Minister also joined this live session and interacted with students. CBSE students while interacting with Prime Minister, shared their views on the decision.

Around 38 participants attended the session. Chitrakar Theprak, a student from National Model Senior School, Coimbatore also participated and shared his views in this live session. While sharing his experience, Chitrakar said, “Prime Minister spoke about the health and safety of students during the covid-19 pandemic. He asked about our feedback on the cancellation of CBSE XII board. PM also interacted with parents.” 

When Chitrakar got his turn to share his views, he said, “I told the Prime Minister that I was anticipating cancellation of board exams and I am now focusing on preparation for competitive examinations. I also told him that it is a good decision to cancel the board examinations”.

The Prime Minister’s announcement on the cancellation of the Board exam this year is welcomed by educationists all over the country. Dr. Geetha Laxman, Principal National Model Sr. Sec School, Coimbatore, said, “The lives of these young children outweighs their Board Exam Scores. And also it has ended the growing anxiety in teachers, students and parents on the Exam Dates and the risk of giving exams physically by students and many staffs are involved in organizing and evaluating it, amidst the steep spike in COVID 19 positive cases all over the nation”.
