11th German Diploma Graduation at Gedee

33 Mechatronic and 25 Tool & Die making Diploma graduates got their course completion certificates for their German diploma course during the 11th convocation of Gedee Technical Training Institute (GTTI), which was held recently.

For a country like India, where small and medium size companies are the backbone of the economy, along with the mastery of academic education, vocational training and skill development are a must to help future employment, Martin Ney, German Ambassador said.

Before 2014, only 1.6 million people per annum were graduating from the vocational courses in the country. But, since the formation of the skill development ministry in 2014, a lot of effort has been taken to improve the quality of training and the employability of youth through vocational courses and skill development programmes, said KP Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship during his presidential address.

This year the MOU comes to an end and GTTI will now sign an MOU with DIHK, Berlin, which is the umbrella organization of the IHKs, which will be the platform and certifier for VET activities across the globe said GD Rajkumar, GTTI Director.
