Challenge the challenges and find solutions

– Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneswaran, Director, PSG Super Speciality Hospitals.

Almost every sector in India and across the globe is going through massive disruption due to the threat of novel coronavirus. While some of our agendas could be scheduled for later, essential services especially medical consultations & health care solutions need to be availed in time by patients from experts without any obstacles. Earlier the possibility for that seemed very thin at the start of the lockdown that was induced by COVID-19. But now, innovative minds are taking incredible endeavors to offer easier solutions.

As a pioneer in health care services, PSG Super Speciality Hospitals examined the scenario and noted that the public should be provided ease of access to their services without the need for travel or outside exposure.

After having their brainstorming sessions in March, the hospital began to unroll several value added services that stand to benefit patients from all walks of life in a much safer way during this crisis.

Talking to Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneswaran, the Director of PSG Super Speciality Hospital we learnt that they have introduced three unique initiatives – PSG Sanjaya, PSG Mithra and PSG Sanjeevani. As Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneswaran explained to us, we quickly realized that these 3 initiatives are well thought of and interlinked with each other through a dedicated mobile application to give maximum benefit to the patients.

PSG Sanjaya is a tele-consultation portal from the hospital. Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneswaran said “While cases of emergency and high-priority that requires scanning and surgeries need to visit the hospital in person, other cases that would require doctors’ consultation could avoid the risks by making use of tele-consultation service. They can make a simple phone call to the hospital or get connected via our dedicated mobile application – PSG Hospitals Patient App.”

“ A person can register themselves in the appand make an appointment for their consultation and our doctors will consult them and intimate whether they need a blood test and will prescribe them the medicines”

Depending on the nature of a patient’s health condition, the doctor may advise him/her to take a blood test. Here also, the hospital has given an easier solution to limit moving out. Through PSG Mithra – Lab on Wheels program, a member of a medical team from the hospital will visit the patient’s house (if it is within 20 kms radius from PSG Hospitals) and collect the blood sample, bring it to the hospital’s lab for analyzing and provide the results to the patient through the app itself.

When asked whether COVID-Testing could be availed via Mithra, Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneswaran clearly said that currently the Government  does not allow COVID- testing to be done at home, and so PSG Mithra’s service do not include COVID-Testing.

For getting the prescribed medicines much safer, a solution has been devised by PSG Super Speciality Hospitals. It is called PSG Sanjeevani. The medicines could be ordered via the PSG App. Once the patients enters the address where the medicines need to be sent, the hospital will courier them directly to that venue.

The PSG App gives such a greater connectivity to the services of PSG Super Speciality Hospitals and it is free to download now. “Problems always come but we need to be strong. We should challenge the challenges and find solutions, and PSG has done that in this period, keeping the patients’ health care requirements in mind”.

“All these programs are receiving good response from the public and we are very glad that our initiatives are helping them to cruise this crisis period safely”, added Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneswaran.
