4 TN (BN) NCC of Kovai Group celebrated India’s 74th Independence Day at Peedampalli. The Officiate Commanding of the Group Lt Col B Bharat hoisted the flag. Subedar-Major K. Ravi, NCC Officers of Schools and Colleges, NCC Cadets and Peedampalli SKN Govt School Children and around hundred villagers joined the flag hosting.
One hundred relief kits containing rice, dhal, mustard, jeera, oil, chillies etc., were distributed to underprivileged families in Peedampalli village for free. One thousand masks and sanitizers were distributed to the villagers.
After distributing the kits, five hundred tree saplings were planted by the Officers, NCC cadets, School children and villagers. An educative film on COVID-19 preventive measures like wearing masks, following social-distancing, washing hands with water and using hand-sanitizers etc were shown to the villagers.
Awareness on Self-Reliant India and the measures taken to achieve that aspiration was passed onto the Peedampalli villagers.
