50% of COVID-19 testing charges to be waived-off in Delhi

In order to lighten the COVID-19 burden in the nation’s capital and to facilitate corona testing for all, the Home Ministry has agreed to reduce the charges of testing by 50% in Delhi. An all-party meeting was convened on Monday to discuss and assess the Corona situation in the capital. It was chaired by Home Minister Amit-Shah.  Congress and Aam Aadmi Party leaderships in the State also took part in the meet.

Congress made several demands including provision of financial assistance of Rs.10,000 for each families who are infected or in the containment zone. Congress suggested that as the hostels in schools and colleges are shut, they can now be used as quarantine facilities.

The BJP demanded that 50% charges should be waived off on testing and it was approved by Amit Shah. Speaking to the press, Anil Chaudhary, Chief of Delhi Congress said that everyone should have the right to testing. Treatment is possible only through testing & tracing policy followed by all countries, Home Minister has accepted that. He has assured that under a new testing policy everyone will have right to testing.

Home Minister Amit Shah had announced that 18,000 tests will be done per day in Delhi by June 20, shared Delhi BJP Chief Adesh Kumar Gupta. Sanjay Singh from AAP said that the new test that will cost  just Rs 450 will be made available soon in New Delhi.
