The Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry , Coimbatore (ICCIC) organized an interactive session on latest enactment in Pollution Control Act and Environmental Clearance for Orange & Red Category Industries.
Delegation from Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Cbe led by Asokan, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer addressed the Chamber members. The program was held in Ardra Hall on Wednesday.
V.Lakshminarayanaswamy, President, ICCIC welcomed the gathering. He briefed about Pollution Control Board and highlighted its activities.
Asokan said that the Pollution Control Board has been conducting many outreach programs in order to hear the problems of Industries, in obtaining clearance certificates. He handed over the session to Dr.Ramesh, Asst.Engineer, TNPCB, Coimbatore.
Dr.Ramesh conveyed to the gathering that Tamil Nadu stands 1st in getting CTO/CTE clearances among all the other states till date.
He briefed about the Pollution Control guidelines that industries have to follow and highlighted the Scoring Methadology that classifies Polluting Industries as Red, Orange, Green and White.
He shared about Acts and Compliances that industries will have to follow, and explained about standards for discharge of Trade Effluents and standard discharge of Sewage.
He also briefed about standards that Foundry Industries will have to uphold when they dispose Foundry Sand.
