Want to keep your eyes healthy? Try these foods

Could you imagine a day without clear sight? No don’t imagine, it is not a beautiful sight. However if you could manage to eat your veggies daily, you can certainly avoid eye-related health issues. Some foods are naturally rich in essential nutrients that can keep your eyes healthy.

Fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, especially salmons. The nutrients from Fish promote the health of retina and aid in eye’s development.  Fish caught in the wild and in the sea consume natural food and are healthier when compared with farm fishes. Instead of fried fish, if you eat the fish in the gravy, it will be much healthier.

Similarly Egg yolk has lots of nutrients like Vitamin A, Lutein and Zeaxanthin. Vitamin A makes the Cornea healthier,  the zinc content in egg’s yolk helps the retina and researchers believe that Lutein and Zeaxanthin content in yolk prevent age related eye-health issues like cataract.

After 60, eye-health starts showing signs of fading. Eating nutrient-rich natural food in the young ages is vital for a sweet 60. What do you say?

A few almonds every day is good for eyes,  They are packed with Vitamin E. 15 mgs of Vitamin –E per day is essential in our daily diet, and almonds can provide that.

However, almonds are also rich in calories so keep it to minimum of 8 almonds a day.

Add milk and other dairy products to your routine. They are good source of Vitamin A and Zinc. But it is important to take milk that is from grass-fed native cows, and cows that are not given any artificial lactation chemicals and drugs that make the cow produce more milk.

Make sure that you don’t add too much sugar in dairy products.

How can we forget about carrots! They have Vitamin A and Bea Carotine which help in keeping the surface of the eye healthy, and prevent eye infection too.

Adding them to salads and eating them as an evening snack or making a carrot soup with natural spices could be a replacement for a usual fried snack. All fresh fruits and vegetables that have Vitamin C are good for eye health.
