The Chitrakala Academy, a Coimbatore based Art Academy is hosting its 43rd Annual Art Exhibition at the famous Kasturi Sreenivasan Art Gallery between 12th and 16th of Feb. 35 artists of the academy have exhibited more than 70 paintings and art works on various themes on life, nature, devotional and abstract ideas.
Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions inaugurated the exhibition. Talking to The Covai Mail, he said that what The Chitrakala Academy is doing for 40 years at Kasturi Sreenivasan Art Gallery, which is one of Coimbatore’s iconic places is very significant.
“While Art is done for commercial reasons, this academy is keeping it neutral, giving a push to artists, respecting them and giving a chance for students too, these are important.People of different backgrounds expressing their mind through Art is very special.” More than perfection, their creative skill needs to be cherished here, he added.
Oviyar Jeeva, President, The Chitrakala Academy said ” every artist has a style. Executing the idea in mind without losing their style is important and I see that uniqueness in all these paintings”
Talking about the Exhibition, he said “this is the 43rd year we are doing this exhibition. Our focus is to create awareness about Art through this program, and we see growth every year”
