Solutions to Clean Water & Clean Energy discussed at PSG Tech

Access to clean water and energy is at the center of discussion in several Government Organizations across the globe. Across the world, the impact of climate change is being faced by people and all forms of life.

To explore the ideal solution to water & energy crisis, and to find out what are the sustainability issues some solutions to these crisis face, some of the brightest minds in academia and industry assembled at PSG College of Technology for an illuminating two-day seminar on Sustainability Issues in Water and Energy-Nanotechnology Solutions

During the inaugural, Pradeep Halder, President/COO, Dais Corporation, Odessa, Florida said “Energy and Water are key drivers for economic activity and economic development that happens anywhere in the world. Climate change is affecting people’s standard of living and it is also leading to mass migration. It is critical for countries to focus and have resources for its own development. ”

He mentioned about Paris Accords and how on December 2019, the members were unable to come to agreement for what to do beyond 2020. “To address these climate issues, we as scientists, engineers and people who are interested in commercializing technology should come up with solutions”, said Professor Halder.

He put forward the idea of the academia and Industry to make changes and start at grass root levels and even advice the politicians and policy makers on what could and what couldn’t be achieved in terms of technology to solve climate change issues. He said that both parties (industry/academia) need to continue to innovate. “My role as a Fulbright Scholar from US is to build bridges with people here and US so we could bring partners into the equation”. He also mentioned that with indigenous and international collaboration, they could find solutions that are sustainable.

The Global population in 1800 was 1 billion, in 1900 it was around 1.6 billion. But in 2000s it was 6 billion and now it is close to 7.8 billion. The growth is phenomenal and the need for clean water and energy for the more billions to come will be more of a challenge. Dr.Rudramoorthy, Director, PSG CARE said Water is country specific but air is not. Global warming due to older forms of energy generation is hurting people adversely.

India has said that there will be a 20-25% drop of Carbon dioxide emission into atmosphere by switching to alternate energy sources. While USA has backed out of Paris Accords, he said the rest of the nations, with their best minds and policy makers will have to come up with solutions.

He said the landscape of nations remain the same but need rises, and for that water and energy conservation techniques, advanced products that consume less energy and give efficient results are paramount. This two day conference will see eminent scholars and industry partners discuss solutions to these challenges.
