More than 40 dead due to fire tragedy in New Delhi

A luggage manufacturing factory operating in a residential area in Anaj Mandi, Delhi caught fire today (08.12.2019) and it has killed 40+ people who were trapped inside.A phone call about the incident was made at 5.22 a.m. and 30 fire tenders rushed to the spot. It was reported that 50 people were trapped inside the factory. As per reports, it has been stated that 40+ have died due to the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained however it is suspected that the fire could have started at the factory’s workshop.

Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlit has asked the district magistrate (central) to conduct an investigation and file a report within 7 days. CM of New Delhi, Arvind Kejriwaal has announced a solatium of Rs.10 lacs for the families of the dead and Rs.1 lac for the injured’s families.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives in fire at Delhi’s Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi Road. “The fire in Delhi’s Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi Road is extremely horrific. My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones. Wishing the injured a quick recovery. Authorities are providing all possible assistance at the site of the tragedy”, the Prime Minister said.
