73rd Independence Day was celebrated at PSG College of Technology in a grand manner. Dr K Prakasam, Principal Incharge is the Chief Guest and Dr.B.Giriraj, Principal, PSG Polytechnic College was the Guest of Honor.
The Chief Guest hoisted the tri-color and administered the National Integration Pledge. In his address Dr.Prakasan highlighted the genesis of our National Flag and the importance of tricolour and Ashoka Chakra.
He also addressed on the development of our country since independence. He highlighted the use of ICT Technology for effective learning and communication and urged the students to use them effectively for better learning and better understanding. NCC Cadets showcased recent space mission models Chandrayaan 2, Akash missile, display of drill arms as part of the NCC March Past ceremony.
A flag area on ‘Youth for National Development’ was depicted and the cadets briefed the gathering. Cadet achievers were honored with prizes and certificates. Major M.D. Kannan, Associate NCC Officer of the college was honored on the occasion for his 25 Years of Excellent service in NCC. Lt Col Senthil Kumar, Commanding Officer, 4 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC took part in the Function in which Faculty members, students, cadets of various NCC wings numbering more than 500 attended.
