Ganga Medical Centre and Hospitals (GMCH) has been identified as the Centre for Quality Promotion (CQP) by the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO). GMCH demonstrates sustained high performance since its inception 6 decades back from a humble fifteen beds clinic to a 500 beds Super-speciality hospital with proven clinical and evidence based practices. In the year 2018, the hospital has performed more than 25000 surgeries and treated more than 2 lakh outpatients.
Every year, there has been consistent increase in the number of patients. This was possible because of quality treatment at an affordable cost. In recognition to its patient quality and safety, the hospital has been accredited with National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) in the year 2012 and National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) in the year 2019. It has also won the prestigious IMC Bajaj Excellence trophy and AHPI award in the year 2019 for quality patient care. As a drive for commendable service quality, CAHO has chosen Ganga Medical Centre & Hospitals to function as CQP, the 25th Centre recognized in India.
CAHO is a non-profit organization working to improve healthcare quality in the country in coordination with National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers and Quality Council of India. CAHO is a platform of all accredited hospitals to promote and continuously improve the quality and safety of healthcare services in India.
It also facilitates communication amongst the accredited HCOs, sharing best practices and providing benchmarks. CQP’s are the nodal centers to carry out the mission of NABH and CAHO. The primary function of CQP would be to handhold other healthcare organizations towards accreditation. The CQP inaugural function was held on 3rd August 2019, 6:30 PM at Ganga Hospital Auditorium. Dr.Vijay Agarwal, (President – CAHO) presided over inauguration.
Suresh Lulla (Founder – Qimpro Foundation) was the Chief Guest. Lulla is a veteran professional with over 50 years of experience as a management consultant. Dr.Mariappan (IMA President –Coimbatore) was the Guest of Honor and Dr.Alex Thomas, Founder-Member and President of the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), Founder-Member and President of the Association of National Board Accredited Institutions (ANBAI), Founder-President (2012-2017) and Patron of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO),Former Director (CEO) of Bangalore Baptist Hospital (BBH) felicitated the event. Representatives from different hospitals in and around Coimbatore are invited for this function.
About 50 participants from different places across India attended the program.
